Activities are important part of Power Apps. We can create new activity record using New Activity button and all the activities will show as drop down. We can create new activity record from related entity record, like creating new email from account record.
After Wave 2, 2022 release, New Activity drop down will only show relevant activities which are added in your app. Activities which are not added in our app metadata are hidden from the New Activity drop down. We need to add required activities in the app.
Earlier all the activities were shown in New Activity drop down as there was no dependency on the app, and this was an opt-in feature but now it is default enabled for all the apps in Dynamics 365 environment. If we do not want to use this feature, we can simply disable that from Power Platform Admin center.
For example, we have Phone call and Task on the app so only these activities are seen under New Activity drop down.
If you want to add any other activity in this drop down then you need to add these in Model Driven App.
Follow below steps to add activity in your model driven app:
- Open https://make.powerapps.com
- Select your environment and go to your solution
- Click on Apps option and open your App
- Click on Add Page and Select ‘Table based view and form’ and click next
- If you want to add existing activity, then choose ‘Select existing table’ and search your activity.
- Then select that activity, else choose ‘create new table’ and create new activity table
- To show your table in navigation (Sitemap), select ‘Show in Navigation’ option and click on ‘Add button’
- Save and Publish your App and Publish your solution as well.
- Click on ‘New Activity’ and check the changes in the drop down.
You can disable this feature in Power Platform Admin Center from the environment setting. To disable this feature, follow the following steps:
- Go https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments
- Open your environment and click on ‘Settings’
- Under Product click on ‘Features’.
- Under Activities turn the button off and then click on Save.
- Click on New Activity drop down in your App to check all the activities.
